The birth of the Exiles Sports Club dates back to the 19th November, 1966 when the first Committee was formed by a group of lads led by Vanni Bruno, Gino Camilleri and Herbert Naudi. The other members were Charles Grixti, Philip Bisazza, Martin Frendo and Michael Soler. Incidentally, all attended St. Aloysius College.
A few months earlier they had been playing 'a sort of' game which they called waterpolo. In fact no goalpost exists, no outline of the pitch and a plastic ball was used!
Once the summer holidays were over they wanted to get organised. A couple of meetings held at the University Sports Club brought out ideas on how to raise funds, organise activities and rope in new members. The Club emblem and colours were chosen, a set of regulations adopted and the number
of people on the Committee was increased to nine with the inclusion of Karol Farrugia, Alex Stellini and Norbert Miceli.
