The New Year, and especially the forthcoming Summer ’06 season, will present new fresh challenges for which the Exiles S.C. Committee is earnestly preparing for.

Undoubtedly, any Club’s most important aspect lies in its membership and active following. It is the members who make up the Club. To the ‘established’ members, we say thank you for supporting us during the past years - we continue to rely on your backing. Our, or rather, your Committee is always working harder to attract new members to the fold. We do encourage one and all’s participation in the various fund-raising activities organised from time to time.

Any suggestions for its improvement and/or any contributions will be gladly received; these can be  addressed to webmaster@exiles.com.mt.  We do trust its content offers pleasant reading, as well as interesting photo-images some of which go back donkey’s years.

It’s always good to look back, especially to last year when the Club’s Swimming School participants more than doubled. This certainly augurs well for the future. With a ‘rather successful’ waterpolo season for both the senior and junior teams, we now have to look ahead and face the challenges which await us.

I can assure you all that a lot of work is going on behind the scenes to reach our goals, which ultimately will be to the benefit of all Club members and its player/swimmer participants.

A few ‘projects’ are in the pipeline : strengthening our waterpolo teams for the forthcoming 2006 season; enhancing the Swimming School set-up; keeping the Club website up-and-running in the most cost-effective way; summer premises’ refurbishment including new snack-bar set-up & management.

Funds will always be required to reach these and other related aims. Besides those preciously generated through Club-membership, Swimming-School subscriptions and various sponsorships, we sincerely need your support in raising more Club finances by attending the fund-raising events to be organised during the next few months.
 
Notification of such events will be through e-mail circulars and our website. But of course it’s by telling your family-members and friends to attend is what will increase the much-needed participation. Pass the word around and come along … en bloc.

I’ll stop here for now. We Committee members all trust to see you at our next fund-raising event, details of which will be circulated soon.
