Exiles started this year’s summer campaign with a win but were stretched to the limit by outsiders Marsaxlokk. The match played on Saturday night at the National Pool saw the boys build a comfortable lead of five goals by the end of the third quarter before fading in the last seven minutes as the Southerners plucked courage and were a whisker away from drawing level twice in the final minutes before Exiles nosed ahead seconds from the final horn.
