The Malta Waterpolo Team under Coach Karl Izzo are in their third win out of five games, then drew their fourth vs Israel and placed second in the European Water Polo Championship qualifyer for 2014, in Odense Denmark.

Malta obtained one of its best ever international results in its history scoring no less than 24 times against a team that used to be a considerable power in European Water Polo. In this 3rd victory from 4 games, the result was never in doubt after the initial 4 minutes. Coach Karl Izzo used all the players at his disposal in this match, giving his first 7 periods of rest following yesterday’s gruelling matches against Russia and Denmark. The runner-up position is the group is now a real possibility with only 1 match remaining – tomorrow morning at 09:00 against Israel.
