The Italian University Waterpolo Women’s team ended up runners-up and won a merited silver medal at the Summer University Games held in Naples Italy between the 4th and the 14th July when the last competitive events concluded this year’s edition with the closing ceremony being held at an San Paolo football stadium to host this biennial event.

Elena Borg formed part of the Italian squad that won a string of six matches leading to last Saturday’s final but had to bow to Hungary who won 8-7 to land the gold medal.
