Valletta United 6 Exiles Jetfreight 5
Exiles suffered their third successive defeat in the Enemed Waterpolo Cup, this time at the hands of Valletta when last night both sides met at the National Swimming Pool Complex.
It was a balanced match which saw both teams taking slender leads with the Citizens opening a two-goal unassailable gap in the final stages of the match, before Exiles reduced it to one in the last minute.
Exiles’ display lacked character, conceding soft goals which could have been avoided. In the attack, Aurelien Cousin was tightly marked and our shooters failed to cash on the space created by the double-marking adopted by our opponents.
Next match is scheduled for Tuesday the 9th January, when Exiles meet neighbours Sliema. Swim-Up at 18.45 hours.
