Exiles lose to Neptunes

Exiles Jetfreight 8 Neptunes 10

Partial scores (1-3) (3-0) (1-3) (3-4)

Yesterday morning’s encounter had a few twists that had a bearing on the final result.

After the definite dismissal of Neptunes’ player Niki Lanzon at the end of the first session, the Reds were rattled by a strong reaction by the Exiles team who piled four successive goals to take a two-goal advantage (5-3) before Neptunes leveled the score (5-5) half-way in the third session. An exclusion of a Neptunes player was followed by Exiles’ player Kurt Griscti’s definite expulsion for brutality to leave his mates 4 minutes in numerical disadvantage. Neptunes increased their lead to a slender lead (6-5) after missing a penalty throw. The Reds edged away from their opponents stretching their lead to three (9-6) before Exiles rected and ended the match 8-10 down.

Scorers for Exiles were Andrea Bianchi (2 goals), Timmy Sullivan (1 goal),  Niki Paris (2 goals), Aurelien Cousin (2 goals) and Benji Lanzon (1 goal.

Coach Kayne lanzon had Matthew Castillo back in the side but the sessions were shared two-a-piece with Nello Xuereb.

Exiles converted one of the six man-ups and scored a penalty awarded to them. Neptunes scored two of their four extra man.

Next match see Exiles take on Sirens on Wednesday 20th December at 20.00 hours at the National Pool Sports Complex.
