Aqua Academy’s trip to Rome

Between Christmas and New Year, the Exiles Aqua Academy Under 17 travelled to Anzio just outside Rome for a training camp to continue their training schedule and progress at a time when the  National Pool at tal-Qroqq shuts for the festive period. This trip solidified the group spirit further and bonded the members of the  team who gained a unique experience. It also offered a tiny glimpse of what training is all about, in one of the top 5 nations in the Waterpolo world sphere.

Exiles participated in a friendly tournament facing three Under 17 teams from Rome. The matches reached high levels and the Maltese team pushed hard in all three encounters. The first game against Anzio saw our boys losing 10 – 5, followed by  a win registered against Antares  7-1 but lost the final game in a tight match against Latina 7-5. During the rest of the days, the kids were exposed to a tough morning training session followed by a friendly game in the afternoon against Anzio Under 17.

Undoubtedly it was a great experience in terms of sports and a highly memorable one for each member of the squad.

Should your son or daughter be interested in joining the Exiles Aqua Academy teams, please contact Ms Michelle Zammit on 9923 7115. The Academy enrols boys and girls between the ages of 6 to 14 years.
