Enemed Cup and Winter Leagues launched

In a note issued by the Aquatic Sports Association Malta (ASA) on the 10th December 2018, fixture lists of two tournaments starting in the first week-end in February Enemed Cup and in the third week of March Winter League were made public. It will be Enemed Cup’s second edition whilst the Winter League is a permanent competition that gears up the participating teams in preparation for the Summer Leagues.

The Enemed Cup is expected to attract eight clubs which have put in their application. A ’round robin’ series will see all teams meeting once to establish the final classification to determine the four top teams which will then battle for a berth in the final on a knock-out basis. The final is scheduled for Tuesday 19th March 2019.

The Winter League will see the participation of ten affiliated Clubs split into two divisions, six teams in the Premier whilst four of the five First Division teams will compete in another category.  The same system will be adopted to crown the respective winners in each division. The finals are expected to be played on the 11th May 2019.

The date of the draws will be announced closer to the start of the first competition lined up.
