Exiles Jetfreight 8 Sliema 8

Exiles’ ladies failed to force a decider with newly-crowned champions Sliema after earlier this morning, they could only end level with their opponents in a nail-biting match played at the Exiles Pitch in front of a good crowd.

It was an uphill task for Gordon Zammit’s Girls as they trailed the Blues for most of the game, a two-goal early lead. The fourth and final session was the best one for Exiles as they won it 3-1 to catch up with Sliema but it was not enough as Exiles needed desperately a win to end up square with our neighbours in the points classification, to fight it out in another encounter. Exiles missed two crucial penalty throws in this tense match.

Well done just the same to all the members of the Ladies team who improved on their last outing a week earlier when they lost by the odd goal, the Knock-Out Final.
