Exiles 7 Sirens 14

Exiles’ efforts lasted up to the half-way stage as they faded in the final two quarters to lose heavily to a young Sirens side 7-14 when yesterday night both teams met at the National Pool in Round Four of the Premier Waterpolo Summer League.

After a balanced two sessions in which Exiles trailed by three goals ( 2-5) but narrowed the gap to one by the end of the second quarter with goals by skipper Kayne Lanzon who found the net twice inside the last minute of play (4-5). A two and a half minute  ‘black-out’ in the third session proved fatal for Exiles as they suffered four consecutive goals without  to give the Northerners an unassailable five-goal lead of 9-4 up before a reaction by the Boys saw the partial score at the end of the third session read 6-10. The last session was a formality as Sirens hammered another four goals to one scored by Exiles for the match to finish 14-7 in favour of Sirens.

A detailed report to follow shortly.
