Exiles’ best outing not enough to beat Valletta

Exiles played their best match so far in this season’s Premier Waterpolo League but left the National Pool empty-handed when earlier tonight, they lost 10-12 against Valletta United. The match was a balanced affair with the Citizens practically always nosing ahead stretching their lead to four goals (7-3) three minutes in the third quarter. Maurizio Mirarchi’s boys kept chasing and were twice within a whisker of levelling (9-10) and (10-11) but it was not to be as they failed to score any goals in the last four minutes of the game and missed two crucial man-up situations in the dying moments  in the last quarter to see Valletta conserve their two-goal margin when the final horn was blown.

Partial scores (2-2) (1-3) (5-5) (2-2)

A detailed report to follow shortly
