Exiles crushed out of the Cup

Exiles’ resistance lasted two sessions before being swamped by Sliema to be knocked out of the Premier Knock-Out Competition which got underway last night in the first quarter final tie which saw the Blues winning 18-5. One must mention that Italian coach Mirarchi had two regulars missing – Julian Rizzo Naudi – abroad on work and James Spiteri Staines who injured himself in a road accident and has been ruled out for a week. We wish James a speedy return to the team. David Pace Lupi was also not fully fit but managed to play and even scored one goal.

The four partial scores were (2-3)  (0-3) (1-6) and (2-6) with the other scorers for Exiles were Peter Borg (2 goals), with Luka Sekulic and Kayne Lanzon one goal apiece.

The boys must forget last night’s showing and concentrate on the next Premier League encounter once again against Sliema on Friday 11th July at 20.00 hours.
