Exiles fade in third session

It was another disappointing performance by Pisani’s team which once again just threw in the towel three minutes into the third quarter when Sirens added four goals to their tally against one of Exiles to build a comfortable lead of five goals (9-4) by the start of the fourth and final session. With the points won and lost, both Coaches made use of their reserve strength on the bench to see the match through.

After a balanced first half of the match (2-4), in which Exiles failed to cash their opponents’ poor shooting, they suffered five goals in the third session mainly due to lack of concentration in defence especially in the ‘hole’ as well as failing to swim back to keep their opponents at bay. In the attack, Milos Vukicevic was poorly served with the usual shooters, bar Kurt Griscti, missing the targets to fall prey of the Northerners’ counter attacks.

Exiles had 8 man-up situations and found the net in 3 occasions, whilst they were awarded 2 penalties  which were both converted. Five Exiles players were exclued for twenty seconds with 3 of them being converted by Sirens as well as a penalty.

Dorian Pisani made use of all the players on the line-up, Ian Bugeja, Julian Rizzo Naudi, Simon Vassallo, David Pace Lupi, Daniel Borg Millo, Edward Gravina, Sean Gravina (1 goal), Kurt Griscti (2 goals), Nicky Paris, Andrea Bianchi, Milos Vukicevic (4 goals), Kayne Lanzon (1 goal) and second goalkeeper Gianni Ciappara.

The last match in the Relegation Pool for Exiles is scheduled for Tuesday the 23rd August when they meet Valletta United at 18.15 hours.
