Exiles Ladies confirmed Champions

Gordon Zammit’s Ladies team made it again this season as they clinched the National Ladies League title with another convincing win on Friday 17th August when they beat San Giljan 10-6 to assure themselves of their second consecutive championship.

The indications were clear the night before when at Exiles Pitch, the Girls beat their nearest challengers Sliema 11-8 to win the first of the two decisive encounters between the top sides in the domestic league. Sliema had dropped two precious in their match against San Giljan to trail Exiles. The win against San Giljan puts the issue beyond any doubt. Exiles have won four straight matches to tally an unassailable advantage on Sliema, five points behind.

Next Thursday 30th August at 19.15 hours, Exiles will visit Sliema Pitch to play their return match against the Blues.

The presentation of the Trophy to the Exiles’ skipper by a representative of the Aquatic Association of Malta, will be made after the match.

Congratulations once again to Gordon Zammit, his Assistant, Igor Vukanovic and all members of the squad forming the winning team that was deprived of the services of Agnese Rella who had to forfeit her annual trip to join her team mates due to an injury following traffic accident. Whilst wishing her a speedy recovery the President of the Club and his Committee look forward to seeing her joining the team next year.
