Exiles lose to Sliema by four

Sliema 14 Exiles 10

(3-1) (4-2) (5-5) (2-2)

It was a marked improvement from the first outing a week earlier as Exiles still ended empty-handed but played a much convincing game against the more-quoted Sliema in a match  on Saturday the 28th February at the National Pool.

The Blues were always in the driving seat building an early lead of four goals by the half-way mark (7-3). The third and final sessions saw both teams share fourteen goals with Sliema keeping a safe margin of goals to win the encounter.

There were 12 exclusions against and a penalty conceded by Exiles with our opponents converting 7 man-ups and the penalty. Our boys had on 9 occasions  an extra man but found the net just twice.

Coach Matthew Pisani made use of the following players: Steve GaleaPace, Julian Rizzo Naudi (2 goals), Simon Vassallo, David Pace Lupi (2 goals), Michael Paris, David Abela, Sean Gravina (5 goals), Kurt Griscti (1 goal), Nicky Paris, Andrea Bianchi,Philip Paris, Luca Peric and Kayne Lanzon.

Our next match is another tough one on Saturday 7th March 2015 at 18.00 hours at the National Pool when our boys meet San Giljan.
