Exiles meet Sirens

After a 12 day break, Exiles start the second round of a final set of two matches in the Premier Waterpolo Relegation Pool when tomorrow evening they meet Sirens at 18.15 hours at the National Pool. This encounter will have no bearing on the final classification for the 4th to the 6th places as they are now set with the Northerners having an unassailable lead over their nearest challengers Valletta United followed by Exiles.

Italian Coach Maurizio Mirarchi needs these two matches to lift up the morale of his players after the last disappointing outings. On their part the players are expected to give their best to end their commitments in the Relegation Pool on a good note.

There is no doubt that there has to be a re-thinking by the participating Clubs about a future format as well as the fitting of the Knock-Out Competition to avoid these large gaps in the fixtures after having played a large number of matches in very short space.
