The Draws for the 2016 Waterpolo Winter League were made last Friday the 12th February at the ASA Headquarters at the National Pool. Six Premier Division teams have confirmed their participation to this year’s event which startson Sunday the 28th February. In their first match, Exiles were drawn up first from the hat and meet Valletta United (at 09.30 hours) in what the local press considers the clash as expecte to be a balanced match as are the other two duels on the day’s fare – Neptunes against Sirens and Sliema versus San Giljan. The Premier Division tournament will be played on a round robin basis consisting of one round after which the first three teams fight for the title play-offs whilst the fourth to the sixth place teams play each other for the final classification. In the First Division Winter League, three teams Marsascala, Otters and Ta’Xbiex will take part together with the ASA Under 19 National team which will meet all nine participating clubs.

The second encounter will be the toughest one in the series when Exiles meet favourites San Giljan on Saturday the 5th March (17.00 hours).  On Friday the 11th March (19.30 hours), our Boys will cross swords with Neptunes and a week later 18th March, they take on Sirens at the same time. The last encounter will see Exiles meeting neighbours Sliema on Tuesday the 23rd March at 18.45 hours.

The out of competition match against the ASA Under 19 National Team scheduled on the 1st March,has in the meantime been brought forward by one week to Tuesday the 23rd February at 18.00 hours

After a two-week break, the play-offs will commence on Friday the 8th April with teams pitted depending on their respective placement in the round-robin series.
