Exiles 12 Sliema 14
Partial scores (2-2) (3-4) (3-3) (4-5)
In their first match of the Second Round of this Summer’s Premier Waterpolo League, Exiles played their best match in the season when earlier tonight they gave the Blues a hard time. Though ending on the losing side, the boys gave good account of themselves with the fighting spirit never lacking. The team marshalled by Assistant Coach Matthew Pisani was well disciplined in the defence and the attacks were built with tact never giving away the ball from their possession and maintaining the required concentration that was absent practically all the five matches played in the First Round.
The match was characterized by twelve expulsions and two penalties awarded to our neighbours against six exclusions suffered by Sliema – three of these occurring in the last quarter.
