Partial scores (1-2) (3-3) (2-5) (1-4)
More was expected from Dorian Pisani’s Team after a respectable result obtained against Sliema in their previous outing. Exiles went ahead three minutes into the first quarter but failed to cash the nervous start of Sirens who took some timeto settle. Exiles’ attacks were sterile and predicted as the attacks were centred arround Milos Vukecevic who took position in the hole. When he played on the right flank of the attach, more space was created for the rest of the team tp take the responsibility to shoot as most of the time Milos was double shadowed. The definite expulsion of Andrea Bianchi three minutes from the end of te second session undoubtedly forced Dorian Pisani to change his plans for the rest of the game.
The team was slow in building its attacks and the shots lacked the accuracy needed to find the net. None of the seven man-ups were converted and this was telling on the proceedings of the encounter. Exiles players spent most of their energies sprinting back into defence as Sirens crowded their fort and sped off at the first opportunity. The second part of the match saw Exiles fade awy for a partial score of 3-9 in favour of the Northerners.
All the players on the match card were utilized- Ian Bugeja, Julian Rizzo Naudi, Simon Vassallo, David Pace Lupi, Daniel Borg Millo, Edward Gravina, Sean Gravina (1 goal), Kurt Griscti, Nicky Paris, Andrea Bianchi (1 goal), Milos Vukicevic (3 goals), Kayne Lanzon (2 goals) and second goal-keeper Gianni Ciappara who took the water in the last four minutes of the game.
Next match sees Exiles meet San Giljan on Tuesday 5th July at 19.15 hours.
