Neptunes Emirates were probably the team everybody hoped to avoid when the draws were made for this season’s knock out semi finals.
The Champions are in fine league form , having won all five games with relative ease even against opponents who were expected to give them a full run for their money. Exiles , on the other hand, are still waiting for their first win of the season and performances have been fluctuating between very positive (Vs San Giljan) and very negative (Vs Sirens).
Today the focus is on trying to reach the knock out final for the second time in Exiles’ history. To do this Aurel’s boys must do what has never been done before …… beat Neptunes at Senior team level.
Exiles have had two weeks to prepare for this second part of the season, also enabling Sasha Radovic (picture) to integrate more into the squad following the change of foreigner.
Aurelien Cousin has one important casualty in Nick Portelli (picture) who is out with a groin strain incurred in the Under 20 match against Sirens. Portelli has been given prominent exposure in the first team since his transfer from Sliema and has grabbed the opportunities handed to him by the coach.
