Malta 2001 win Exiles/ASA Tournament

The quadrangular tournament organized by Exiles Sports Club in collaboration with the Aquatic Association of Malta  between the 27th and 29th October held at  the National Pool Sports Complex attracted three foreign teams; two Italian, one from Rome (Nautilus) and another from Leghorn (Livorno Nuoto)as well as the England Schools 2001 team. Together with the Malta 2001 squad under the guidance of National Coach Karl Izzo assisted by Anthony Farrugia, the event proved to be  a very balanced affair.  The inferior team from the Italian Capital was swamped in the three encounters against the other participants, but the rest of the clashes were hardly-fought and the final result could have gone either way.

Malta 2001 managed to win all their matches to lift the trophy.

There were also two exhibition matches between the Malta Senior Girls and the England Schools 2001 Girls’ team.

Exiles would like to thank ASA Officials – Secretary Rita Azzopardi and Vice-President Karl Galea for their assistance in this event.
