Michela Zammit made the sports headlines as an article appeared on today’s edition of The Times regarding her recent stay in the UK during which she trained with three waterpolo teams, namely Tyldesley, Liverpool and Manchester. Michela is one of the few young girls that practice this fascinating sport in Malta and features in Exiles line ups in some of the boys’ age groups once there are not enough numbers to form age group girls’ team locally let alone play competitive matches.
The experience gained in the UK has undoubtedly helped Michela improve the good standard achieved so far in her brief career and augurs well for the future.
Michela Zammit is the daughter of Michelle and Gordon Zammit who are two hard-working members on the Club’s Swimming Board. Gordon monitors Michela’s progress very closely from the substitutes bench where he coaches the Club’s budding waterpolo players of the future.
Well done Michela and keep up the good work.
