ASA halts all league competitions

The scheduled Premier League match featuring Exiles against Sirens and which had to be played yesterday evening was postponed after an ASA Executive Committee decision taken on the 25th July and passed on to the affiliated Clubs stated:

In the light of the consistent incidents experienced until now this season the ASA Executive has decided that at this moment in time all Championships shall be immediately suspended. This applies to all National competitions, Age-group competitions and also the Women’s  championship.

According to the same statement the continuation of the competitions is the first item on the agenda of an urgent ASA Council meeting called for next Tuesday the 29th July.

Clubs’ move

In the meantime, there was a meeting held by representatives of all the affiliated Clubs and it was proposed to the ASA that the date of the Council  Meeting is brought forward by one day to tomorrow evening (28th July) and that, in view of the huge fixture congestion and lack of issues, the Junior leagues as well as the Women’s league are resumed immediately.
