San Giljan ease past Exiles

San Giljan 12 Exiles Elia Caterers 7

Partial scores (4-1) (2-2) (5-0) (1-4)

San Giljan had the better of Exiles when the two sides met on Saturday afternoon with the Saints dominating proceedings in the first and third sessions to their first win and points in the Enemed Cup Competition.

Exiles found it difficult to shake off the full press adopted by Marco Orlov’s team shorn of a few regular players. After a shaky start, Exiles kept chasing their opponents to end three goals behind at the half-way mark. The third session proved to be fatal for Igor Vukanovic’s squad which evidenced signs of fatigue as the quarter score showed. The last session was a formality as San Giljan’s Coach drafted more youngsters who found it harder when facing a stronger Exiles outfit that also included new faces in the water for a final respectable score.

Scorers for Exiles Timmy Sullivan 5 goals, Mark Fenech and Andrew Magri one goal apiece.

Next match sees Exiles face Sliema in a week’s time on Saturday 23rd February 2019 at 17.30 hours.
