On holiday in Malta, is Gerben Silvis and his family. Gerben is an ex ZPB and Netherlands waterpolo international who has been a frequent visitor to the Island and has played for Exiles in 2006 when they were crowned Second Division Champions piloted by Coach Dirk Dowling. At the National Pool yesterday night, Gerben recollected a super goal scored at the Pool on the 24th June 2006 against Marsascala (13-9) and which was guarded by Ian Bugeja who this season is playing for Exiles. This is an excerpt on Gerben’s goal from the commemorative magazine issued by the Club marking the winning of the honour: I also remember distinctly a back-hand by Gerben whilst shadowed by two opponents and which hit the two uprights before ending at the back of Marsascala’s custodian.
